Observatory’s import and export layer is open under CPAL 1.0. The C calculation core stays closed for IP reasons, but ships under whichever tier you choose. The library itself doesn’t change between tiers — what changes is the warranty, the support, and the engagement model.
Free is genuinely free. The CPAL 1.0 license lets you use Observatory in commercial production with attribution — no fees, no usage caps. The trade-off is that you accept the library as-is, with no warranty, no liability, and no support obligation on our side.
If you need warranty, liability cover, or active support, the Unlimited tier handles that. If you need customization, integration work, or a dedicated engagement, that’s the Partnership tier. Both are quote-based and priced against company profile — small companies pay small numbers.
